10 year old boy attacked by pet dog in Hapur | Meerut News

MEERUT: A 10-year-old boyresident of Babugarh area in Hapurwas attacked by a pet dog while he was on his way to a nearby grocery store four days ago, said police on Thursday.
Reyansh Kumar had severe injuries on his cheeks and near his eyes. His family approached police on Tuesday evening, after which a case was registered against the dog’s owner.The boy was taken to a nearby hospital in Hapur from where he was referred to Meerut and then to a higher medical center in Delhi due to his critical condition, where he is currently undergoing treatment.
SHO Patneesh Kumar said, “Based on the complaint from the victim’s family, a case under IPC section 289 (negligent conduct with respect to animals) was registered against Vijendra Kumar and his wife, both residents of village Bachhlota. Their pet dog is a German Shepherd. The victims is stable, and further investigations are under way.”
The victim’s mother, Moni Devi, said the incident had left scars on her son’s face that may last for a long time and he was traumatized by the incident.
